2018 Impact Report
2012-2017 Impact Report
To inspire change through outdoor adventures that engage individuals with world challenges.
A world where communities give themselves in service, creating awareness and support for social issues across the globe.
Letter from the Board President, Ben Shasby.
The past year has been an exciting one for Chooda! We hired our first paid employee and welcomed several new board members, while saying goodbye and thank you to a few long standing board members. We are thrilled to to be taking Chooda to the next level strategically and believe that we are now poised to get there.
This year will see our 7th Bike Zambia event, where we have 35 riders dedicating themselves to raising awareness and funds for some of our incredible partners in Zambia. We are excited to report that Bike Zambia 2018 is already off to a great start, with riders raising over $65,000 of our $140,000 goal! We have a strong contingent from Southern California and we are excited to see the ripple effect of people that are interested in Bike Zambia from outside our original Bay Area roots.
2018 will be a critical year for us, and is shaping up to be full of successes and challenges. Given our unique position as a nonprofit, we want to clarify how we serve our communities. We know the growth our riders experience through this journey and that the awareness they gain surrounding critical world challenges can shape a future life of service. With this focus, we are working diligently to secure funding to enable future years of amazing experiences that make a substantial impact worldwide.
Please enjoy this report and recognize that we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you to all our supporters and riders over the years who have made Chooda what it is today.
